Sam Houston, the Texas Democratic Party nominee for Place Seven on the Texas Supreme Court, will make a special appearance at the Third Biennial Blogger’s Caucus sponsored by the Texas Progressive Alliance on Thursday, June 5.
As a practicing attorney for over 20 years, Sam’s legal work consists of litigation in many areas including professional malpractice, board complaints, business litigation, and general liability. He became board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law in 1995 and recertified in 2000 and 2005. Sam is also board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trial Advocacy. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has been rated AV, the highest ratings in legal ability and ethical standards by the Martindale-Hubbell legal rating system. Houston Magazine has frequently recognized Sam as one of “Houston’s Top Lawyers” and Texas Monthly has rated him a “Super Lawyer” for the past several years.
Houston City Councilwoman Melissa Noriega will be one of several honored guests making an appearance at the Texas Progressive Alliance’s Third Biennial Blogger’s Caucus next Thursday.
Melissa Noriega was elected to Houston City Council At-Large, Position 3 in June of 2007 to fill an unexpired term. During her campaign, she built a broad coalition of citizens, businesses and community organizations. As a Council member, she serves on the Environment and Public Health, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Quality of Life and Transportation, Infrastructure and Aviation committees.
Joe Jaworski, candidate for Texas Senate in Senate District 11, has confirmed that he will be one of several anticipated “Special Guests” at the Third Biennial Blogger’s Caucus on Thursday, June 5 at Cedar Door in Austin.
Jaworski, who is running against Sen. “Toxic Mike” Jackson (R-La Porte), is a former Galveston City Councilman and mayor pro-tem of that city, and helped lead the city of Galveston’s Hurricane Katrina emergency preparation and response in 2005.
Sherrie Matula (D-Houston), who is waging a campaign against State Rep. John Davis in House District 129, has confirmed that she will be one of several “special guests” attending the Third Biennial Blogger’s Caucus on Thursday, June 5.
Sherrie is a longtime classroom teacher and served two terms on the Clear Creek ISD school board and served as President of the Galveston County Education District and on the board of the Texas State Teacher’s Association.
District 129 includes a significant portion of southeast Harris County from Friendswood and Pearland to Pasadena, Seabrook and the Clear Lake area.
